CBE says annual liquidity level increasing

Commercial Bank of Ethiopia (CBE) increased its annual loan supply capacity (liquidity level) as it continues implementing over twenty new banking systems over the past few years.

Yabsira Kebede Corporate Communication Acting Director at CBE told The Ethiopian Herald the Bank’s liquidity level was not more than 35 billion Birr ten years ago. This figure has increased to 129 billion Birr in the past fiscal year only.

He said the CBE has made its focus on diversifying its service with latest technology-oriented services for its customers to get easy banking access. According to Yabsira, interest free banking systems are being applied in more than 47 branches currently and are also set to bring permanent solutions to network -related problems the Bank has been encountering for the past few months.
