Africa CDC’s First Phase HQs Building Ended
The topping out ceremony of the construction of the future headquarters of the Africa Centers for Disease Control & Prevention (Africa CDC) was held in Addis Ababa, marking the first phase completion of the project.
Launched in December 2020, the construction of the headquarters that is located around Haile Garment area in the capital, the building is expected to be finalized in 2022.
The construction commenced following the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) that was signed between the African Union Commission and the Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China. China has previously built the headquarter of the Africa Union in Addis Ababa, the diplomatic city.
The headquarters will rest on a total area of 90,000 square meters of land, while the building covers 40,000 square meters of land. The building be equipped with the state-of-the art office buildings, high-end laboratories, and accessories.
